THE DESIGN 

The inspiration for the watercolour artwork of St. John Paul II are the many photos of him with his papal Cross pressed firmly into his forehead, deep in prayer. These images reflect his closeness to Christ, both in his love and suffering, especially towards the end of his life.

The digital design is inspired by the Marian Cross of his coat of arms. This represents his personal motto "Totus Tuus," reflecting his personal consecration to Mary.
