Prayer Card | Our Lady of Good Counsel
This title of the Blessed Mother has been honoured by many popes and faithful in the Church. The original fresco of Our Lady of Good Counsel originated in Genazzano, Italy.
The image is said to have miraculously appeared when a wall of the church crumbled in the 15th century. During this time many pilgrims venerated the image asking for Our Lady's intercession and reported many miracles and healings.
The title Our Lady of Good Counsel was added ot the Litany of Loreto in 1903 by Pope Leo XIII.
THE DESIGN
The watercolour of the original image shows the Blessed Mother and the baby Jesus in a close embrace with His hand resting trustingly on her heart expressing His devotion and love for her.
The back of the card has a Prayer to Our Lady of Good Counsel.
