Novena Card | Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin Novena Card | Loss of a Child
A beautiful and thoughtful gesture for someone who has experienced the loss of a child. Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin lost four of their children at a young age. The rest of her five children all joined the religious life. They are the first married couple to be canonized together and are powerful intercession for marriages, parents, healing of sick children, and those mourning the loss of a child.
THE DESIGN
The front features a watercolour illustration of Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin along with the names of their nine children, including St. Therese of Lisieux. Each child is represented by a flower near their name. Those with gold centres died at a young age, and those with brown centres entered religious life.
Inside the card has artwork inspired by St. Zelie's letter to her sister-in-law, who was grieving the loss of a child through miscarriage. Reflecting on her won grief of losing her son, she brought encouragement and hope to her sister-in-law by expressing the confidence that they would see their children once again in Heaven. On the right, there is space for writing in novena information and intentions.
The back of the card has information about Sts. Louis and Zelie Martin.
